As far as the wait basically when the 991 was released I wanted one and when they finally announced the manual was coming out (months later) I was in full out 'want one now' mode, I took delivery April 2012 so I am guessing about 6 months from 'want' to 'delivery'
Gotcha… got the itch and it needed to be scratched situation.

I didn’t even know this car existed in a manual. Is that OEM?

I thought all RS variants were PDK.

It was the very limited swan song of the 997 platform and the Mezger six; yes, it was manual as an OEM.

Do you know the subjective issue (one of many) I have with this car?

—> I can get a 991.2 GT3 6speed or 992 GT3 6 speed for 1/3 or 1/2 the cost. And the engine has gotten ‘better’ without losing much character.

you can say the same thing for a lot of older 911 versus newer ones

Edit: I would agree the 911R is not worth the money(if there still a big premium?) over the later GT3 6MT/touring since very similar cars
