Oh well, these emissions recalls haven't been terrible for owners. We absolutely made out on the TDI (drove it for free from 24k to 72k miles), I would have gotten $1 or 2k on the JGC if I had kept it long enough. Maybe I'll get something; I mainly hope they don't cut power.
The lovely older gent who bought my E91 three years ago was replacing a TDI wagon he sacrificed to the buyback.

Quite the 'sacrifice', he was cash rich on getting paid $10k-ish more than the market value of his vehicle. The 72k miles TDI bought us a high-spec 4k mile GTI of a newer generation.

I wouldn't sweat it too much, my 911 falls into that category as well ... no idea what the actually issue is but would it make sense to cut down power on cars that have SC while the non-SC cars are fine.

Except for Sport plus mode what are the other differences to the programming that involves the engine

EDIT: One funny thing, when I ordered my car I was going to order it without SC but the manager said to me he orders every car with it and I should get it if not for what it does then for resale value.

Right. Sort of tongue-in-cheek. He was thrilled to get the wagon (as was his son--also a BMW enthusiast--who found it for him on CCA.) Very nice guys.

This was one of the color combos I was looking for when I was searching for a 981. It will be interesting to see what this one goes for even with the PTK.

47k miles, PDK, white/black... I can't imagine it's going to be big $$.

One thing that comes to mind is idle speed. When I press Sport or Sport+, idle goes up from about 650 to about 800... Perhaps something as mundane as mpg's need to be updated. I don't think the car is 'stronger' in sport or sport+; they are throttle maps. Together with the cooler thermostat setting for oil & coolant in these modes, the fuel economy impact is there. That's the only thing that comes to mind when only S/C cars are in the list.

Also, auto start/stop turns off, though I usually keep that disabled anyway. Steering firmer (no separate button for that) and Exhaust behavior change (slightly different than PSE button impact).

It's a 4cyl, but with 3hrs left the price seems reasonable for a pretty nice package.

What's the reserve likely to be on a car like that, though? 65?

Might get there even though ppl are hung up on the lack of DME reports.
