G87 M2

@Theo Pic if ID8 in the LCI X7. This pretty much puts it in concrete that the G87 M2 will have iDrive 8. It appears anything new or face-lifted is going to gain iDrive 8.

Yeah I figured.

Not that I care but I doubt it will get the stubby auto shifter that the entire auto industry is going to since the i4 didn’t.

Yep, plus BMW is now tacking on ///Ms galore on M Performance models. Example X7 LCI M60. The X3 LCI M40 received the same treatment last fall.

So the only thing real M items left are:
- Engine
- Trans - Not always the case - The E39 M5 had the same 6spd as the 540
- Suspension - Again not always the case - 540i Msport again
- Wider bodywork - Only some models - Mostly M2,3,4

Everything else is up for grabs.
- Still waiting for the quad tailpipes on the M sports though.

Scratch that first bullet… new M60 (M50 replacement) will now use a detuned S68 V8.

If BMW were to put a manual in the M240 it would be the route to possibly go in an attempt to save some cash. The B58 is getting another TU so I would not be surprised to see the S58 receive one soon.
