Time for a boat thread and an ethanol thread, I think.

Trying to find the specs on those engines, just because I was curious, but boat ads are even worse than Facebook marketplace ads in terms of detail.
Pretty sure this is a twin of the last boat my folks had on the Great Lakes. Twin 454s but only 350 hp from each. I think they also offered diesels but as with pickup trucks it was a huge upcharge. https://www.yachtworld.com/boats/199...-open-3739270/ Basically a floating RV. I never really understood the appeal, but it was fun to go out on every now and then. |

The idea of boats is cool but they are so expensive and time-consuming to keep and operate that I could not be excited about them besides maybe a small boat if I had water-front property.

Boats are like pools. They're something you want a good friend of yours to own. |

Yup, my Merc 350 was a painted chevy 350. in NJ, I had to remove the carb at the end of season to store it indoors. Or leave it on, and rebuild it each spring. It would not survive a NJ winter outside

I'm sure Mazda got a great deal on them. They do wear like iron at least. |

If I recall correctly, that Merc got two top end rebuilds due to sitting. Luckily we had a great local boat mechanic. (Hilarious redneck. Also, he had a 15' bass boat with a 250hp Mercury outboard on it. I got a ride in that once and it was insane.)
