What's your fuel purchase record ??
I filled up our 27-foot motorhome today.
Final tally: 28.35 gallons, $158.73. Ouch !! (Chevron premium is $5.59/gallon here). Good thing this isn't my daily driver .... (I suppose we should thank our lucky stars that the lake we like to go camping at is only 20 minutes down the road from our house, and that many other scenic campgrounds are less than an hour away).

I know this will sound weird but I usually just look at the number of gallons I pump so I can figure out the gas mileage … i’ve always been a bit obsessed with that.

Is that only partially filled I take it? 28 gallons seem like not much for a motor home, our 4runner is 23

I keep a fuel usage logbook in all of my vehicles, then figure out the miles per gallon from there. I cringe at the mileage I get in my MH. Then again, it IS a friggen house on wheels, lol.

I believe it has a 60 gallon tank. I try to gas up all my vehicles when the needle is at the 1/2 mark because it’s not as “painful” …… in my mind anyway, lol.

Do you keep a logbook? If you don't keep a logbook, you're an amateur.

No log book for me but a lot of the cars have a few different mpg indicators and I usually leave one on and don’t reset it from the moment I get the car. BMW even now has an option called ‘factory’ and it gives you the mpg and other stuff from the day the car left them … pretty cool. |

I've been using an iOS app called Road Trip (App Store link)since I bought the Focus ST and can't recommend it highly enough. Super easy. Keeps track of a ton of fuel, service, maintenance, tire, and other stuff if you want to enter the data. if you enter tire sizes, it will do the math to give you corrected MPG and $/mile results. It's so unexciting, but it's so cool. As I was saying, if you don't have a logbook, you're an amateur.

Our Sienna is consistently 0.2 mpg off. I hadn’t figured out my E46 yet, though I should. It’s easy when you write down the odometer mileage, gallons used and are consistent in the filling up procedure (I stop at the second click of the nozzle and use the same Chevron stations whenever possible).
