I get it that you don't see that area of the car when you are driving it yourself, but... still just looks like a bit of a loose end on the design.…

I am not really a fan either. I think it was better executed on our cars, 997.

I take it or hope it is a better spoiler at least

Your post is perfect timing, for the first time ever I was behind one yesterday and really thought the spoiler in the up position looked strange as sh*t.

Wouldn’t keep me from owning one I was just really surprised how high it was and unfinished it looked.

I saw a bunch of 911s at PEC and the ugly extended wing is all I could think of. Looks bad and indeed like something is broken.

It’s actually a much more effective spoiler, compared to the 996/997 which was constrained by the rear fender design. One of the pluses (aerodynamically) of the 991 and now 992s is a much wider rear spoiler.

Is it ugly? Yeah. It mostly is. Still has functionality. Which is more important to me.

I suspect with real world, city driving it is fairly trivial.

In real world city driving, the difference between a 930 and a 992 is fairly trivial.

LOL

Noooooo.

Power steering. Power windows.

Remember I commuted to work in an 85 Targa everyday for a couple of years.

It’s like an air cooled Beetle versus a Honda Accord.

Maybe this is a known answer, but is this an engine design flaw (bore scoring)?

And what’s the worst case scenario? You pull the engine and re-do the cylinders?

For sure - I drove a 930 around Boston a few times - you never forget that you’re not driving a modern car
