Bonus: High RPM S54 reliability is a lot better than people thought it was. It’s reasonable to set the rev limiter to 9,000. No, that’s not a typo. Yes, the S54 makes power all the way there with an OK exhaust.

This appears to be the droid that Chris is looking for:
https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...p-Build-Thread! This page looks like some fairly comprehensive info. http://www.s54swap.com/index.php?title=Main_Page Since you aren't looking to DIY, you might just want to call around to shops and see what they'd charge for it. My guess is that it would be a pretty penny and it almost certainly wouldn't be worth it...but you'd have something pretty unique at the end of it. Might start with Kassel, the people that did that web page, who are in York, PA; they might have recommendations closer to you. Or Turner, up in Mass. There may be others--Nick, any thoughts on that front? |

It must have very robust apex seals.

It almost certainly wouldn't be worth it. But I may just look into it a little further just out of curiosity, yeah that's the ticket.

If you're looking to pay someone else to do it, you're talking $15k to do a decent job. Likely more. The M54B30 swap would make a lot more sense since there's zero brain damage.
It's really not practical unless you are absolutely committed to it. I don't really have thoughts on who to use.

I've thought about this some more and re-remembered it's dumb. For me at least. Thanks all!

Just get a nice spec f30 330i wagon while you still can. They are pretty decent despite the 4-cyl as long as you get track handling package and m-sport.
