Car of the Future Foiled By Pneumatics

Fancy electronic car of the future was foiled by steampunk pneumatic tech this morning. Came out and the right rear tire was flat.

Haven't had a chance to pull the tire and check for the damage because I had a thing* this morning, but it was low yesterday so clearly there's a leak somewhere.

Sigh.

*"A thing" = Democratic fundraiser. "I didn't want the flat tire on my Tesla to make me late for the fundraiser, so I left it and took my Porsche instead" is probably the most First World Liberal Problem sentence I can imagine.

I'm surprised the battery in the Porsche wasn't dead.

That solar trickle charger thing really works, though I usually don't have to worry about it during warm weather.

Hmm. The tire options in 265/35 21 are, shall we say, limited:

https://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireS...SortCode=61027

ContiSportContact 5P

Rear: 265/35ZR21 101Y XL
UTQG: 240 AA A
$340.70
Availability: In Stock

Michelin Pilot SuperSport

265/35ZR21 (101Y) XL
UTQG: 300 AA A
Qty:Per Tire:
$358.70
Availability: Back Order

Pirelli P Zero (PZ4)

265/35ZR21 101Y XL
UTQG: 280 AA A

$363.91

The Michelins seem like the obvious choice, but back order? No es bueno.

21" might make it tougher than usual, but I'd try calling around to some local places. There's an SCCA friendly guy down that way who's name I can't remember right now (I'm sure someone can chime in on the name.)

EDIT:
Just saw this in the tire description. I guess you're calling an official Tesla dealer for this one.

This is the guy I was thinking of. For some reason I thought he was further south.

http://www.radialtirecompany.com/

EDIT:
I know my guy up here buys a ton of inventory from Michelin to get month-end bonuses. He usually beats TR on pricing on them too.
