I’m ultra keen on your feedback of the 7sp in the 992. Even better would be some feedback from you on the comparisons between the 991 and 992 generations for this aspect.

I have not. Just the 6 speeds. I have never driven a 991 as well. Edit: Keep in mind that the 992 T has the SSK from the GTS. Last edited by SCA; 01-03-2024 at 04:56 PM. |

The 992 S order is based on trust that Porsche improved the transmission from the 991.2s, but it would be nice to have an owner confirm the trust.

Yes… he has stated it publicly multiple times. You will never see it in a GT car as he would never allow it. Allegedly the bean counters have pushed for its use in GT cars.

I will say this —ostensibly the same 6 speed they used in 991.2 GT3 is used in 992 GT3. And it does shift better. Less friction/notchiness. So they either changed the fluids out or worked on the synchros.
This has to be true for the 992 T/S/GTS also then. Not sure why he would have on it so much though. PDK is perfect for the Macan (note that they do NOT use PDK in Cayennes….) because it’s a small engine and the PDK makes the most out of the horsepower. PDK in the S/GTS and Turbos though — it totally lacks driver involvement, IMHO. I fully admit at the limits of adhesion, PDK does better than I can do as a human, but for how I own and drive my cars, PDK is robotic and anti-involvement.

Here is a recently listed 991.1 GTS that is unrealistically priced @ $148,500, more than the MSRP when new.
