Then you find a car like this one- http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...5&aff=national

Low mileage, local, 986S. Inoffensive color combo. White gauges even.

But WTF is with the wing?

If I could spec my Boxster it would have 18" wheels, sports seats, heated seats, sport wheel, LSD, and wind deflector. And it would be yellow or red.

Unless I get a spyder, in which case I'd have to go with white and spec the sport bucket seats.

Get the wing removed after purchase

The wing is a small matter, literally and figuratively - besides, if it's that bothersome, there's an easy solution - remove it

For 19k asking, this looks like a pretty good deal, if you're serious about buying, I'd go take a look and a test drive.

It all depends on the history, but given what JV ended up selling his for (as he mentioned upthread), and given what a local dealer was asking for an '01 with fewer miles, I'd view 19K as very much the opening shot in a negotiation on this car. The distant, barely heard opening shot.

The non-Concordian shot, if you will.
