YES and I had the rack on my then new 01 330ci replaced in the recall for that. It actually did make a difference.

I did too, then I wound up swapping my '01 for a '00 328 after I had 4 or 5 (Bosch or Siemens, I forget which was the good one and which was the bad) electric fans fail causing the car to overheat

Mine 8 three sunroof sunshades and had the drooping window seal issues on both sides.

Correction.

My 3 currently has 143,000 miles, not 133,000 as originally posted.

Crunching out a few numbers, that equates to an average of 826/month, or about 9,900/year.

Overall, not too bad really....

Considering the 30 months of 535xiT ownership we averaged 25,800 miles /yr and only drove it to 8 Mid-Atlantic & North East states + canada, I'd say you treated her very well.

Wow, I think you just won Carmudgeon's Most Average Miles Driven Per Year !!

My car usually gets most of its miles during the spring/summer/fall. In winter, I tend to drive my beater 1/2-ton because of its 4WD capabilities.

In the last 10 years, we have finally settled into a house in NV, so we don't do the traveling x-ray/ct contractor thing anymore, which results in significantly less mileage accumulated for both our vehicles.

We tend to rent cars now if we are going to do any LOOOONG distance road trips. It makes the drive more interesting and less stressful.

Maybe for one car, but there are several of us who drive more miles in a year than that across multiple vehicles.

That's a great looking E46 - must be the climate as well as your meticulous care

Thanks !!

I believe you're right about the climate. It tends to be very dry out here in the high desert.

As far as care, I do a lot of my own preventative maintenance, with oil changes every 7500 miles. It amazes how well this car still feels solid and vault-like after so many years and miles.

But I'm sure you already knew that with your own E46.

Yeah - I think so.

I put 5,500 miles on the E38 just in August last year.

I also average 550 miles a week just in commuting - regardless of what car I drive.

FYI - Our Yukon is almost at 300,000 miles now. The E38 is approaching 200,000. Even the 997 is working towards 120,000 now. I guess the F250 gets about 5,000 miles a year.
The only car I don't drive that much is the Mustang... and I guess the E9 as well. It's a good thing I am in the gas business.
