It's funny, I saw two different M3s on my way to work today, which is way more than I see on a typical day. Of course I was in bumper to bumper traffic, but it was hard not to notice the contrast between the strakes and slats and bulges on the M3s and the completely unadorned nature of the Model 3.

This weekend my 12 year old daughter kept egging me on to punch it from stoplights. She thought the fact that we could just disappear without even so much as a tire squeal as HILARIOUS.

He did.

Those big-ass 20" wheels basically cost $15k.

Speaking of big ass 20" wheels, JST, how do you like the ride quality so far? Was I crazy to think it was surprisingly comfortable during my test drives?

The ride quality is actually really good, yeah--it's far better than the Model S, actually. In comparison, the Model S feels both floaty and stiff-legged when going over bumps. The Model 3 soaks up bumps surprisingly well for a car with 20" wheels.

Image is from Autoblog story "Tesla Model 3 gets handling and aero upgrades from RevoZport" http://forums.carmudgeons.com/showthread.php?t=154694 but whatever

My thought was, "is this the first car to look better with a front tag than without?"

European plates seem to be the key. They look pretty goofy with us plates too.

One tidbit was, "Already have a Model 3 Performance with the $5,000 Performance Upgrade? Track mode will be over-the-aired to you."

I wonder if that means they know it will be free? There was speculation that while the PUP qualified you for track mode, it would still cost $$$
