Can you import an E36 Touring and swap in an S50/52... and have fun with it for a few years and sell it to me?
I've been using a 2019 Civic Si coupe for autocross this year and have driven it quite a bit on the street to/from events. It is an outstanding every day car. I don't know if there is a better value for how much you get. I know you don't like the looks (I only really like the hatchback and coupe), but it is THAT good for FWD. Though, I think you'd be happiest in a GTI/Golf R. Have you considered the Veloster N? |

I couldn't own a Hyundai. They just haven't figured out the special sauce for making cars engaging to drive.
The C8 Corvette really changed the calculus for me. I keep thinking of that car. |

BTW, I was in the COSTCO gas line with the 2 series when a Corvette pulled up. Guy gets out and compliments my car, “I hear those are pretty fast. Oh, and nice color.” His car was pretty close to, if not exactly, Estoril blue. I don’t know my Corvettes. Maybe it was a C7? |

JV: the c8 is changing my mind too.
A robust mid engine chassis is what I have, but it’s chronically German in the sense that it’s underpowered. I also miss the v8 from the various cars I’ve owned. I can also probably get around my anti-DCT bias if I can still maintain a true manual in the driveway in another car.

Yeah, I also love mid-engine cars. And I love V8s. I'm coming to love manuals less and less, as there are so few good manuals out there.
My worry with the C8 is it will have a pile of teething pains associated with it being a totally new platform. My Boxster has been largely bulletproof. I am not interested in being the guinea pig for problems with the C8. |

For whoever gets the Corvette - A picture of you wearing your gold chain and half buttoned down Hawaiian shirt are going to be expected shortly after....
That seems to be the required uniform for Corvette drivers - at least those that I see... (and that is why I will never buy one....) LOL
