I'd be all over AF's car if it had a manual transmission!

From my short test drive I disagree on both of those. But coming from E39 M5 steering usually anything is an improvement and if you think the ride is “punishing” you should be driving a Lincoln. I’m OLD and I don’t think it’s even close to that. Go drive one.

I can’t imagine the ride is worse than the E46 M3 on 19s. Steering feel, meh, my 2 doesn’t bother me, and the M2 is supposed to be better.

The E46 M3 was horrible with stock shocks. Easy and cheap to fix, though.

The hardest riding car from memory was the E36 M3 ... I will never forget the way that car rode.

I had my E36 M3 at the same time Ken had his E46 (on 19's). My car was a Cadillac compared to that dump truck.

After this auction...
I'm going to have to talk to Hagerty (after my car is finished) to raise what they have on the 'agreed value' of my coupe.

Wow.
Love that color. Awesome shape too.
It was 10 miles from where I live. Saw it a couple of times. Really nice car. My car will be (more or less) in about that shape when it is done. But - I will have an M90 motor whereas he did not (although he as real Alpina wheels - I have copies). According to my E9 expert (who knows the red car) - he thinks my car should be worth more than this (once mine is done) - due to the motor.
But - who knows. While there is a very visible trend on these cars going up in value substantially - unless I sell mine, it is all an academic discussion.
