To be honest, if the Carrera S is as fast as I know it is, I could loosen my grip on the GT3. There’s a lot of if’s there. The only thing I can say about my 2018 Carrera T is that it was adequate power if I shifted the hell out of it. But the gap between that 991.2 base powerplant and the 991.2 Turbo S is vast. And i wanted something closer to the middle but with a manual. My current thinking right now is sell my GT3 6 speed and try to get on a list for a 992.2 Speedster. Or buy a CPO 911 Sport Classic.

Dude.
They’re still asking over $400,000. And they’re all 5 years old now. It’s incredible. That’s why I’m trying to just get a new one. If they’re going to cost that much, I’ll try for new then. Fine.

I guess at one time Spike and Zuckerman owned a 991 Speedster, but they apparently did not care for it that much and cut it loose pretty quickly. Not all that surprising as they kind of have car ADD.
Edit: Which by the way, I suspect I might now have myself. Last edited by SCA; 04-26-2024 at 09:50 PM. |

Sean, this completely sucks you are thinking of getting rid of it, forget the break in and just drive the freakin thing, it might change your mind.
You have barely gotten to know this car and I really doubt redline will be hurting it at 600 miles. Porsches change a lot at the upper end of the rpm’s. Just floor it and go from there and I know you’re going to respond that Porsche can see it …. Whoop Dee do … you paid $140k just drive it already. |

Thanks for the advice Alan. I am simply not in love with it and I suspect subconsciously my mind has already closed the chapter on it. BTW, with ttt and PPF I am in at $150k. FYI, I spent a full day driving it 150 miles through the Mtns. which included going through The Dragon to NC and back to TN (318 turns in 11 miles) a month ago. Nothing mind blowing was discovered during the process. My former BMW client advisor for decades, whom retired at the end of January called me three weeks ago to check-in as we became friends over the past 30+ years. This happened to be the first time that I made him aware that I had purchased a new 911. His advice was, “If you do not love it now then you are never going to love it, so it truly makes zero sense to keep it in hope that you eventually force yourself into liking it.” He is 100% correct. I originally wanted a manual S and settled for a T because I could acquire one quicker, clearly this might have not been the best idea. It would appear that when you have the itch for something specifically, you cannot scratch that itch with something else. Obviously hindsight now. Quote:
4300 RPM is my infrequent limit at 6XX miles and obviously only at the full operating temp of 205-210°. Last edited by SCA; 04-27-2024 at 08:55 AM. |

Yes. It was also in the back of my mind that today’s computers in cars can rat you out in a heartbeat. And that’s especially a problem if you want to flip the car fast.
