Tesla Model S waffling

There's been a flurry of confirmations on Supercharger locations in AZ:
  • Quartzsite (on I-10, about 20 miles east of the CA border): Site is complete, but not yet live -- should be going online in the next few days.
  • Gila Bend (on I-8, SW of Phoenix on the way to Yuma): Site under construction
  • Yuma (on I-8 and CA border -- on route to San Diego): Location confirmed, permit apparently issued, but not picked up
  • Holbrook (on I-40, east of Flagstaff on the way to New Mexico): Location confirmed, permit applied, although it needs a minor adjustment for it to be issued per this article: http://www.azjournal.com/2013/11/08/...t-in-holbrook/
  • Buckeye (on I-10 on the west side of Phoenix): Contractor has verbally told a TMC forum member that this is the next site to be built after Gila Bend.
  • Kingman (on I-40 in NW AZ -- between Phoenix and Vegas): Contractor also verbally mentioned that this is after Buckeye.

This is pretty exciting. There's also a Supercharger going in (likely this month) on I-8 in El Centro, CA -- which gets us to San Diego. Quartzsite isn't much use without another 1-2 Superchargers along I-10 to LA (Indio location has been confirmed, but timing is still TBD). The only gap for me is Flagstaff -- on I-40 and 2 hours north of Phoenix, and a Supercharger there makes the Grand Canyon accessible...

Edit: I received an email from Tesla this evening.. The first AZ Supercharger opens on Thurs (the Quartzsite one)...

I'll seriously consider it if I can resolve home charging (I live in the city and my current rental garage doesn't have charging) and get comfortable with the range. Most of our driving is longish trips so it might not be practical.
