With my 2, the two-door problem is probably the biggest handicap with loading and unloading the two dogs, while trying to keep a back seat cover on... Also, the Porsche dealer is not far at all from my house. Much more convenient than the BMW dealers... And, lastly, small is good from my perspective. I prefer smaller cars, and I have a short driveway and tight garage. Something the size of the Mazda CX-5 would be perfect. Have to drive that, too. |

I didn't drive the 2017+, but on the 2015-16 Macans I drove, the S had high-rpm kick but not enough bottom end, for me imho. I think you should have bought my turbo, lots of torque and that rare OEM hitch mount. Air suspension is not necessary (and long term ?'s) but PASM is welcome for the ride as well as the upgraded seats. Not a fan of the giant glass sunroof, but then it's kinda dark in there without. Backseats are worse than a golf or a 3-series. Front seats are first class, you feel like you're in a bigger, higher 991 gen 911.

There are a couple of Turbos at my dealer. One is an local car (with the hitch): https://www.porscheatlantaperimeter....af2a58hlb60712 And one is a fleet vehicle from Maryland. More warranty left and better color scheme. No hitch: https://www.porscheatlantaperimeter....af2a58hlb60712 Last edited by wdc330i; 05-28-2020 at 03:44 PM. |

edit, and do you really want 21" wheels on an SUV? What is your goal? To trade in the 2er on a nice SUV/wagon? To add a cheap SUV as a 2nd car? Do 3 rows matter at all? Any plans to bring it back up north in cold weather (ie does it need /want AWD)? I've lost track with the different posts in various threads.

The goal right now is to add and keep the 2. But it would be nice if the SUV were decent enough I could convince myself to let the 2 go. I might well end up back in the DC/Maryland area--but not for four years, minimum. But everyone here keeps forgetting Atlanta is in the piedmont of the Blue Ridge mountains--and there are many hilly areas that get snow/bad weather here. And it rains ALL the time, with lots of street flooding. It's not so fun to plow through that in the 2... So, a higher, more practical, foul weather vehicle would be very welcome. Extra points if I don't hate to drive it. This is the other Turbo, if the link works properly. But they are solidly in new X3 4.0 territory: https://www.porscheatlantaperimeter....af2a54hlb62120 Edit: And the cheapo alternative is buy something the kid could grow into for college car... |
