Lucky kid, curious to hear your thoughts when you get it.
And I totally get JST's frustration. It is completely ridiculous that VW dealership won't let you test drive an R. Especially for a possible customer pulling up with his wife in either a tesla, previous gen R or a boxster... come on that sounds like a car salesman's wetdream.

Your wife might actually fit in the seats, though. I really don't.
The Recaros are a love/hate thing in the ST. How does the RS compare?

If I didn't already have the AWD Golf, I'd probably be totally happy with the GTI. But...

I have a very vague recollection of yours, but in the RS, it feels like some of my organs are getting moved around. I certainly don't recall hating yours. My sister weighs nearly a hundred pounds less than I do, so she loves them.

My current car only has 30K miles on it. I don't really need a new one. VW is really, really aggressively trying to not sell me a car, and they are succeeding.
Is it possible to meet the wifey for lunch and do the test drive of a used one then ?

I know your frustrated and I totally get it ... when I was young I loved going to the dealer to try out cars and enjoyed the whole buying process ... now I find I really don't enjoy it, it is just annoying sitting at a sales persons desk for a freakin hour just to buy a car.

Back and forth, back and forth, back and forth ... do these guys really have to check out EVERYTHING with their manager.

Good thoughts, but the weekdays are even harder than the weekends for reasons I won't bore you with.

At the end of the day, there's only so much effort I'm willing to expend on buying a VW. VWs dealers have made clear they don't need my business. Fortunately I don't need to buy their car, so we are on the same page. Win/win.

You have been saying this or some variation of it for years. Yet you keep going back. And buying VAG products.
