Looks good FC. Do you use a random orbital, or was it all hand & elbow grease?

I never had one on going back to the 987S until last March when I got pulled over in my town over no plate on the M3. I got a written warning, but the cop was very clear that as of 2018 written warnings go on your record. Cop literally made a U-turn and chased me down over the plate. So I relented.

Does't look bad from 10' out. This weekend I'll tackle the nasty dent on the driver's front arch. I can't possibly make it worse. |

Note: There has been significant evolution in pads and compounds for DA polishers recently. Happy to break that out in a separate thread, but based on my experience with K's 993TT, it's worth spending a few bucks on some pads and compounds.

I'm ready to invest in a polisher, and would welcome the advice. Maybe start a detailing products thread.

For some reason when I was in my 30's it seemed like an expensive purchase not that I remember the price I just remember feeling like I was spending a lot of money but looking at the prices of them, it seems they are reasonable unless the one I have is a better model and costs more ... I really can't tell https://www.portercable.com/products...olisher/7424xp Also I purchase all the buffing pads from griot ... An example of one of the pads I buy are below but I also buy the orange ones ... all in 6.5" https://www.griotsgarage.com/product...rPicks&from=fn If I were to buy a new buffer I would just go with a Griots one, I seem to trust their products though they are always a little on the expensive side. Also I buy all the polishes 1 through 4 which I don't see on their website anymore ... also I use their best of show wax https://www.griotsgarage.com/product...ortby=ourPicks |
