Too bad about missing the printed version....
Apparently, the June cutoff is April 15th. I submitted first on the 20th. I don't even know what price it's going to go out at as the listing has since been modified... Oh well...

A month after I sold the Porsche I got two emails from people who saw the ad in the printed Panorama (?) magazine. It took forever to appear.

PS who are these people who buy cars by looking at printed ads only?

Probably people who are not actively looking but run into the ad when perusing the magazine and it sparks interest.

...kind of like BaT.

I can only speculate, but is strikes me that the bulk of BaT buyers probably in fall into one of two groups:

1. Those actively looking for something special or interesting, but not narrowly specific. "I want a restomod 60s muscle car." Or "I want really cool Porsche."

2. Those passively looking for something for something kind of specific and BaT is one of the places they regularly check but don't need to buy something right now. "I want a bone stock E38 M5."

Maybe I'm totally wrong.

Agree completely with your magazine buyer assessment.

While I don't buy from print only; I bought this car seeing it in Roundel (ashes to ashes) as well as the 00 528i which turned out quite well. So two for me. I guess I'm one of those guys...

Just an FYI, some guy replied to your listing at the fest.

Hey thanks... I don't go to the 'fest much. This is a good reminder for me to close the listing there when things are finalized.

The (very likely) buyer is from Maine, came down to the area yesterday. Should be all done today. As soon as he showed serious interest (older Brit looking for a large, manual sedan on BMWCCA), others started pinging. $16k asking is definitely the somewhat unfortunate price point. If he backs out last minute; my call back waiting list that formed over last week is 7 deep (now 8 deep).

That’s too bad about the price; that’s a lot of car for that money.
