bad gas mileage in our wagon

My wifes wagon seems to be getting worse gas mileage. She used to average in the low 20s, recently it has gone down to around 20, the last tank was ~19. She is a stay at home mom so I think he driving varies a lot but nowadays mostly city. So it could be her driving but it seems like it is worse then is should be, especially since she drives like a grandma.

Any clue what could be wrong? Airfilter changed semi recently, cars seems to idle/run ok, pumped her tires to 33 for all 4 before her last tank, It is 6 years old with about 80k on it, 5MT.

TIA
Jeff

Fuel filter changed? That seems like something that might be due.

Perhaps the plugs are due for replacement?

Formulation of gas can also be a factor.

In the winter, my mileage decreases about the same amount as your wagon.

That would be my first guess.

Before our subie engine died (the 2.2 that's supposed to live forever) it's mpgs dropped for a few months. It went from 27-29 to 24-25. We did plugs, wires and coolant flush to see if things would improve (at 81k). On that first tank, the head gasket went (no relation to the coolant flush ).
