I don't think I have ever owned a grey/silver car. I am also not a big fan of pin-striping on my cars.

That said, anytime I see a nice, fancy pin-striping job it is usually black pin-striping on a grey/silver car

Nuts....

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...enz-420-sel-9/

Just like my old 1987 420SEL...

That is - just as that car would have been in 1987. LOL

Damn... A time machine.
Red interior is a push for me, but.. what the hay. Awesome condition.

Nice!

I love this comment:

Beautiful car and perfect color combo but you really can’t expect people to bid on it if you only provide 360 pictures

What are you trying to hide?

I hope your son is OK with the results. Like a few of the comments said, I think this week's stock market/world turmoil is effecting a lot of potential bidders.

A lot of the auctions I have followed this week have been reserve not met

David's fine. We were communicating today as the auction closed. He's had a lot of fun buying, owning and selling that car. From the start, he hoped to break the 20K mark but really had zero expectations. Oh to be a 27 year old engineer at Apple making good money with zero debt.

I just noticed this. That car had option 425, the rear window wiper. That has to be a really uncommon option because I can't recall ever seeing a 911 with it until this one.

Or maybe I just don't notice details. Neat car, though.

yeah, I hear that

I read in the comments that BAT wants to do a follow up story on the purchase. That's cool too

I'm thinking of putting our z3 on BAT. We drove it all summer, but never really fell in love with it. The one in the link is very similar to ours, nicer seats, but ours in ~20k less miles. If we can get a similar price (which based on the comments seems like this is considered a low price for the car) we'd be very happy. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1998-bmw-z3-15/

I get the need for all sorts of pic/vid documentation, I am comfortable honestly disclosing all the pros/cons, can get a full maintenance history and can be around once an hour or so to answer any questions in the comments. What else do I need to know in regards to not getting eaten alive on the website? Any suggestions on whether this is a good idea or not worth the headache? Any thoughts on if there is more money to be had on BAT vs CCA and some of the other message boards?
