Replacement shocks for my 330i zhp?

So zach says my shocks are probably toast. I'm inclined to say "no way," but what the hell do I know? Those frequent drives in the Saab could be messing me up.

So let's say they are shot or will be in the near future. Car has ~39K miles and is driven on less than perfect roads.

What to repalce with? OEM? Konis? Thoughts? Anything else to repace while that's being done?

Thanks guys

I'm nearing my 45K service. I could ask them to inspect, FWIW.

Unless they are leaking the dealer will say they are fine.

Koni is the replacement choice. They have a new FSD model that would probably be the ticket for you. http://tinyurl.com/am7hj

At 39K I wouldn't think you'd want to (or need to) start messing with bushings.

Looking for a firmer ride? Or are you happy with stock?

Alex

Pretty happy with the stock ride. I could bare a slightly firmer ride provided it comes with other benefits.

My father's 325 needed front control arm bushings at ~20k miles.

That sounds pretty impressive, but does it deliver? Any real-life feedback?

Wow. But how many of those miles were due to you?

Some people bad-mouth them, but I've been very happy with my Bilstein PSS9 coilovers.

WIth 60K miles on 'em already, though, I'll probably be looking for a replacement soon.

IIRC, there was a test in a magazine, Grass Roots Motorsports I think, at the TireRack facility with 330Ci's where they were reported to be pretty close to the sport shocks in autox but a bit softer on the street. They liked them for what they are, and said they were definitely an improvement over stock.
