So we did some test driving yesterday, we drove the X2 and X3 ... it is kind of funny seeing what a 16 year old likes and doesn't like in a car ... the X2 has no digital speedometer, headroom seems limited in comparison to the car she is used to driving (Q7) and seems too small in the back for friends so that car is out

The X3 is in though and I do agree with my daughter the X3 just feels good overall. It has an optional digital speedometer, plenty of head room, room in the back for friends and plenty of space for storage in the hatch.

I want her to drive her sister Q5 again when she comes home from college this week and then we will decide.

One other thing I explained to her is it is not normal to walk into a dealership have a license plate and keys handed to you, test drive the cars for as long as you want without a salesperson, have a quick nice conversation about the covid vaccine with the salesperson when we return whom we have known for years and then leave.

I still feel my kids will be pretty darn spoiled by having access to either a >3 yo GTI or a >10yo LR4 when the time comes.

In in '95 I was happy to have access to a true POS '85 Cavalier or, with enough begging, the >6 yo Taurus wagon.
