Then again, I only use mine to haul stuff, tow a boat and drive in the snow........you know, "boring" stuff.

I know you love it, but it seems to me that the e46 is really your problem in this whole car situation.
Its not sporty enough to be a sports car (or maybe it is and the Cayman should just go) Its not utility enough to carry your bikes and other hobby things Its not winter enough to get you to your cottage when needed. Its too old to be a comfy daily driver. If the e46 got totaled tomorrow and you could start clean slate, how would your approach to this whole situation change? A raptor and an M2? A Macan and a z4m? A X3 msport and an e46 M3? A Discovery and a 718?

You might want to go try a 718s Cayman (try to find a lightly used one). Stay away from the lowered suspension. It's a very easy daily driver. And it's not so precious/collectable that you couldn't mount some sort of bike rack on it. Then buy a lightly used Macan S for AWD schleppage. And a trailer for hauling crap. Sell all the other vehicles. |

Well that's definitely not true.

But this wasn't meant to be about any of that. It was my thoughts on some trucks. |

If I were in your position, I'd wait to see what the Ranger was like, just because I suspect it will be as good or better than the Canyon. I actually think the rumored JL pickup might be even better for you, but who knows when those will be available. |

I'm curious about the jeep too. I suspect it'll be weird but who knows. |

You're right, it's a different kind of fun. Since I live in a wide open desert, I do a bit of mild 'wheeling. I also love taking my truck out when there's at least a foot of snow. It just plows through it unlike my little car, which struggles at only 4 inches with due-to-be-replaced Yokohama all-season tires. BTW, if you DO get a stock truck, do NOT go to a store or website like this. You'd be like a kid in a candy store, LOL.
