Yeah, there's at least two missing reasons why you don't see many 912s around.

A friend of my dad's bought a 912 in 1979 or 1980 to save a few bucks over buying a 911. He didn't know it was thoroughly rusted. He poured many, many dollars in over the next 10 years to fix it. By the time he was all done, he still had a 912.

My mom used to have a 912... Until she was pregnant with me -- and traded it on a used '67 Eldorado...

Maybe that's why I went from a Cadillac to a Porsche!

Wow. . . dat color.

Reminds me of my Corvette which was the exact same color. Tan w/ a tan pleather interior. But mine had brown pin stirpes.

Dad called it "Camelshit Brown." Not that he was an expert on dromedary excrement.

Three interesting cars this weekend from around the Glen

The first is the Turner Motorsport i8. It was just sitting in a parking lot. Had Mass plates. I assume this was the one from the cover of Roundel last month.

2nd was 'Murrika. A beautiful redneck Corvette. Vettes are everywhere this weekend, looks like fun.

I didn't get a pic of the third car, but it was notable for three distinct reasons. First, it was a bright red 991 GT3, first 991 version I've seen. Second it had Georgia plates, so one heck of a road trip. Third, it was being driven by an extremely attractive woman... win. win. win.

Georgia plates? Were they distributor plates?

I wasn't looking that closely at the plates

I think she was with a guy in a brand new Cayenne following her (also w/ GA plates). After I wrote this I wondered if maybe they were w/ Porsche NA

Notable car sighting thread

I can't recall ever seeing one of these out on the road. Very conservative styling for a supercar. Fantastic engine sound.

I saw one a few months back, but didn't get a pic. It was making a right turn onto the street I was on while I was at a red light. It was red, and I thought it was a bit of an odd looking Ferrari (as it approached me…), and then I noticed the green "hybrid" side script as it turned and knew it was a 918 instead

I didn't think the Focus RS was out yet, but I would swear I saw a white one last Thursday
