Yea, it isn't cheap. My 1er was covered by CPO, but dealership would have charged ~$1500.

On the e61 its more of a PITA due to working around the x drive front axles (sensing a theme here), and my indy charged ~$1100

I always expected the fuel pump to go first, because N54.

My guy’s charging ~$1200; seems about right.

I remember when water pumps were well under $100, and any yahoo (like me) with a socket set and tube of gasket sealer could easily do the job. Wasn't all that long ago.

Sub-100K mile replacement, and $1200-1500??

Most cars are still as you remember. Bmw came up with a Better Idea.

Our Mazda is at 182,000 miles and has the same cooling system as when it left the factory.
