When I see the word quirks all I can think of is Doug DeMuro … lol

Great pics … I like the M2, it looks like a really fun car, still haven’t seen one on the road.

I saw one in real life a couple days ago.

I'll say this, the fender flares work a lot better in the flesh, so to speak, than they do in photos. The front and back ends.. not so much.

Is it visually amazing? No… Is it more aesthetically pleasing than anything else they have currently got? Unequivocally, yes.

I've seen them both. IMO the G42 looks better from the front and rear, while the side profile goes to the G87.

It appears that two more new colors will be available at some point for the G87 in the form of Portimao blue (PB) and Sao Paulo yellow (SPY).

I like PB, but with all due respect it's no Le Mans or Avus. I like PB in certain lighting conditions, while I like LMB without any reservations.

So, I'm still in the LCI crowd with small hopes of more colors, or against all hope Individual will be offered before end of production. I'd even hit Thundernight again.

I drove a San Pablo G80 Comp today. Awful color. It had the scuba suit blue/yellow interior.

My source at NA has totally squashed any hopes I had for individual paint on a G87 as they have repeatedly stated it is not happening so long as the car is produced in Mexico.

If BMW continues to add $1100 to the G87 annually between now and EOP it will have increased to nearly $70k base plus whatever destination maybe by then.

What did you think of the G80?

I liked it for the 15-18 mins I was in it. I definitely prefer the S58 to the S55 and I have attended M school several times at the SC PC so I have ample seat time with the S55.

Edit: I also drove a XM. When I got back from driving it one of the 3rd party kids handling the ‘M Town Tour’ at dealership asked me what I thought? I replied, “Meh, it is okay… it seems to be similar to a X5 M60i.”

I've put the G87 firmly in the rear view for now. I don't need a decision point on it until it comes close to end of production.

But what to do about the 2011 E91 is of greater priority. We can probably eek out another 6 -7 years at current usage rates, but still would like a plan B to replace it with.

EOP for the G80 is 2026 so that would be a possibility except for the nose. With all due respect to TD and his bride, I'm not sure if I can live with nor ever warm up to that proboscis. True, that this will be my wife's car, and as far as I know she has never seen one in real life nor in the media. So if she doesn't like it, it's a non-starter from the get-go. And after 34 years of marriage, I can with a very high degree of confidence state it will be a thumbs-down.

So, what do we know about the next gen 3 series, and more specifically the M3 variant. I haven't kept up with the news from AG, but are they both definitely EV, or possibly a hybrid, or even better still ICE?

It's anybody's guess as to whether they will have toned down the grill, so a big unknown there for sure. But it can't get much bigger on the next M3 can it? CAN IT?

P.s. Sorry for taking this OT, but there is other M talk in this thread already, so I hope it's just a minor misdemeanor citation.
