You're right. It's terrible.

The sport chrono in the 991 adds dynamic engine mounts which the link below explains how it works in the different modes ... Personally I think SC is a must have option not for the wart/clock but more for the dynamic engine mounts and the sports+ mode. I almost didn't order it, luckily the manager of the dealer told me at the time to order it and said he doesn't order a car for dealer stock without it.

Btw sport exhaust is another must have option at least for the 991 but if the car doesn't have it the dealer can add it.

How about this one?

High-ish mileage and it still has an IMS bearing, but it has sport chrono...

Yeah, mine look better than that. But not as much better as I wish they did.

did a dog chew on that navigation button

sorry, more my nitpicking issue. I test drove a 997.1 a few years ago and had the same issues. Annoyed me for paying good money.

The pre-09 navigation is barely usable. The buttons are the last thing you're going to care about when you're hooning a porsche.

Yes, I never use mine. Honestly, I'd get rid of the whole thing in favor of an aftermarket Alpine or something if I hadn't already bought a Dension for iPhone integration.

Would be nice to get a better climate control panel, though.

That dealership actually has a couple of 996's - a 100k mile turbo, and a 99 that looks really nice in photos.
