That plate is up there with the "AW3SOME" plate I saw once...

Can't believe it got through!

I'll give credit to the person for running this on a street driven car in MD, but what a dumb ass thing to do.

I saw one on AZ's "golden rule" plate, which has a desert scenery background with a saguaro cactus off to the right. It said

ILVTHEC

then I saw 2 sea turtle stickers on the rear window and got it. But having a desert background was confusing...

Are we supposed to know what that means?

For automotive enthusiast Marylanders, I'd expect you to be able to tell that the tag is fake because the colors and fonts are wrong and the design is off, too and leave it at that.

THX-1138 was the name of George Lucas's first feature film (which was a remake of one of his student films with a similar name). One of the producers was France Ford Coppola and it starred Robert Duvall.

It one of the crucial films that all scifi geeks have to know all about before they're given their official Trekkie badges.

For regular people...

The "THX" you probably know from seeing it (and hearing the rising tone) right before movies start (in theaters and on DVD and BD) as that's a Lucas thing, too.

"THX" and/or "1138" show up in just about all of Lucas's movies in one place or another. They've also shown up in many other movies as way for other directors to make fun of or show respect to Lucas as well.

I would have guessed it was a historic vanity plate.

I thought the tag looked funny, but didn't really pay attention. I assumed it was referencing some sort of legislation.
