BMW ID7 nav is pretty good. ID6 was also good. I rarely use CarPlay to be honest.

Ours has wireless Android Auto (the system we use) and Carplay standard. It makes it easy to just leave your phone in your pocket, or toss it on the wireless charger and toggle into AA. Seems to work pretty well so far.

Android Auto was added via an OTA software update two or three updates ago.

Dealerships (at least the last 3 I've worked with) are sooooo Sketchy:
https://www.bmwofspringfieldnj.com/i...r6c55kll07645/ Literally the pictures weren't up this morning.... it still said coming soon. I'm glad I have it, but I wouldn't say the buying experience was pleasant.

I'm hopeful we don't find all sorts of frustrations with the x5 as the newness wears off.

That has been my experience too with Centers throughout the Southeast. BMW Centers have become more like Honda/Toyota dealers with same sales mentality. |

Yep when I had my x3 (ID6) I never missed carplay. Rented a 530 a few months ago with id7 that actually didn’t have carplay enabled and also didn’t miss it. I also don’t think I’d miss having a touch screen since the controller is so much easier to use for nearly everything (other than carplay). I didn’t love the new digital gauge cluster design but I’m sure I’d get used to it. In my limited experience with mbux systems I agree they are pretty inscrutable. Overall I think no one does cabin ergonomics/controls better today than bmw. So far they have resisted the trend toward touch and haptics for everything. I like how they brought back dedicated forward/back buttons on the steering wheel (while still retaining the scroll wheel). Small thing but shows how they are always trying to improve their UX rather than simply look cool and cut costs. (Like *cough* VW group)
I love that cognac interior on your new x5 Josh. Have a wanted that interior color for years but never pulled the trigger for various reasons. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
