New snow wheels
At least 3 out of my 4 winter wheels (M Contour replicas) are bent so I need new ones. At this point, I'm not sure if I need new snow tires, but, either way, I'll be using 17 inch Hankook Icebears for my winter tire. Does anyone have any suggestions on suitable replacements for the M contour replicas?
Thanks. |

I'm trying to recall what BMW charges for steel wheels. Though I wonder if they'd survive the bad winter roads any better than aluminum wheels do?

Yeah, you are right. I haven't looked, but I have a feeling the e46 ones will be cheaper at this point. I want something somewhat resistant to bending though; we drive this thing up rutted mountain roads through relatively deep snow in the winter.

Too bad I didnt wind up selling the ZHP. I would have sold you the M68's I use as winter wheels. They are stagered though.

Edit: The snows are on for too long to make that sacrifice - I don't want it looking like total crap all winter. |

Check craigslist. Here are a couple of options: OEM M Contours, probably too expensive: http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/pts/830854855.html Aftermarket wheels, cheap but kind of ugly: http://boston.craigslist.org/bmw/pts/833915047.html |

I have 17-inch steel wheels mounted with snows for the 330i plus BMW center caps. They do look like crap all winter long, but they have survived eight years on DC's pot-holed roads. They are starting to show a little rust at this point. And I think it's nearly impossible to find the steelies in 17 inches anymore.
