Mid-engined Corvette

I'm struggling to care about this, I guess? It seems like an odd choice to take the Corvette this far upmarket (presumably?), though I suppose if they price it high enough it will be like the Ford GTs and sell in limited numbers.

Or is this just a homologation play for LeMans GTE?

Most of the early rumors were that they'd make a mid-engine car as a halo and still produce a "normal" corvette as well.
