You know what else is really cool about the electric shift lever thingy? How do you get the car in neutral after the vehicle becomes disabled in an accident?
It's not exactly practical to grab some hand tools and crawl underneath to access the mechanical override. |

Don't you get that plastic handle thing? At least in the F01, you can force it into neutral through the console.

No handle tool thing that I know of.
I've seen a page online from the service manual that shows a lever on the side of the transmission that requires the removal of a bolt to disengage. |

Hmm, I had thought of how do you get neutral. There is a button on top for Park.
So I guess no pushing it around the garage.

Got a 2013 328 loner today while the M5 is in the shop getting some work done. First time I have had to deal with that new Nintendo joystick as well. No to bad once you get used to it. I still don't like it but then again I don't usually drive auto's anyway.
Btw I was really surprised at the amount of grunt the turbo 4 has.
