Sounds like a good plan, whether or not your mom buys in, so to speak. But, yeah, if the 5 has such sentimental value to her, she should be driving it!

Never sell the M3, BTW. With all its faults, still no new car compares.

sorry, I am confused.

Why are you not driving the new GTI and have your daughter driver the 5 series? Why did you get rid of the R again(I think you did)?

I mean, don't get me wrong. I think a VW Golf is much more appropriate for a kid than an adult, but the prevailing wisdom here seems to suggest adults are allowed to drive them too.

It's a really nice car. And it's quite fun to drive.
