It will be somewhat interesting to watch those two auctions to see how much more of a premium BAT brings over other auction sites. The red one has 2x the miles (and was born in Canada), but otherwise looks like a more desirable. I haven't seen too many other directly compatable cars listed at the same time.

Yes. I 100% am looking the V10 R8s.

You guys convinced me. PDK -> meh.

Makes life harder than needed, but what good is a car search if it’s not overwhelmingly difficult.

Compared to Nick’s E92 M3 or to Clyde’s 2SS 1LE, I’m hoping for easy.

If your talking about the 1st gen R8's get a warranty, the mag shocks are $9k to replace and they seem to always fail ... I had a very low mileage R8 for 4 yrs (I think I sold it with 15k miles) and had the shocks go on me, luckily I had one of the very few warranties that covered it ...

Edit: If I recall correctly the v10 plus doesn't have the Mag shocks ... not sure about the ride but you might want to consider it

I'm curious why everyone strongly gravitates to the V10 R8 i/o the v8? I was considering a gated 'vert version before I got the 911, a 2011ish v8 was in my price window and seemed like a decent car. Everything I read, though, talked up the v10 as if the v8 wasn't acceptable. To me the V8 seemed like way more than 'enough'

On the AM topic, a new one in all black passed me yesterday. That thing is sexy as hell. The rear hips, and diffuser look phenomenal and it sounds amazing. The black hid the grille pretty well too, which is the one area of the design I'm not too fond of. As with all cars these days, I liked the old smaller grille a lot more.

I think the V8 sounds great. And it pulls hard. Even has decent power below 4000 rpms. But for me, the R8 is heavy and has all wheel drive. It’s really hard to kick the rear out. Everything felt premium. But like premium VTEC. It’s not my bag and honestly my e92 m3 had a better soundtrack. Both engines lack a lot in torque though.

Having bought a very similar - just non-S - back in 2011 for around $70k (still under warranty with less than 5k miles), the S would have been $80-85k max at that time.

[broken record]money has become meaningless. An old friend called me today to get motorcycle advice. His son whom he doesn't have a lot of control over (long story with a split-up or two in the mix) has turned 18. He got his motorcycle license and bought a ninja 400. After 600 miles, he sold it and is now the proud owner of a cbr1000r that he rides at 140mph within a few days of purchase... What could go wrong?

His son also has two cars now; he went for old manual bmw's so he can "drift" them. An e34 540i and some kind of e36, likely M.

All from money made from cryptos... He quit his salvation army sort of job a year ago.
