There has to be 65-70ft between the house main level on the dead end and the lower garage (which is on an arterial blvd that heads down to Hoboken & Lincoln Tunnel). 54 steep steps from blvd to backyard, and then the basement is about two whole floors above the yard and then one more floor to the main. Both the upper and lower garage are extremely close to Manhattan, think first/last exit in NJ, but on the rare occasions that I'm driving or riding OUT of the city I need to think which side of the house I want to end up as they are on different sub-exits!

First photo is back of the house from the back yard. Then our deck and finally the view from the deck with my neighbor's deck stairs in the corner. Some manhattan skyline is partially visible on clearer days. Not sure why the thumbnails are sideways, the pics themselves are upright.

The view is beautiful! I bet that deck in the summer is a great place to hang out.

Ha! Good catch, funny how I didn't think about it at all when I bought the house in the fall season. That's how inexperienced I was/still am.

It's pretty nice for about half the year. We bbq and eat and drink there. It's not very large but quite comfortable for up to 4-6. High up, level with the branches...

I’m still very partial to that car. A part of me still regrets not getting one instead of the B7 wagon we got.

What I like most about it is that it still has (almost) all the tech that I'd want, but still provides an analog driving experience.

Not much of that left in the car market unfortunately.

Also the instant response of supercharged induction... My 340i probably matches it, if not beats it, on numbers, but in the real world, out there driving, the s4 gave me that much more confidence. That engine had the instance response of a big displacement NA v8, something a turbo 6 or a nice NA 6 cannot match at lower rpms.

Of course, the S4 was also a little less able to chill out, more of a car that wants to go, go, go. I do wish it still existed in the market in the form I had it.
