Which is presumably why China hasn't stomped on it. But I was more thinking the extreme carbon footprint that radically escalates as a designed in feature.

Its level of incompetence is actually making it not be too unsafe. It'll get riskier before it gets better. After some but not enough improvement, users will rely on it more.

Best line in the article: "Okay, at the risk of the Children of Elon getting all pissy with me all over the internet, I’m going to go out on a limb and say this gear shifting method sucks, pretty comprehensively."

Unfortunately, I think we'll see similar things from other automakers in the coming years. Porsche's ever shrinking gear lever may be a sign of things to come. But yeah, this type of thing would drive me bonkers.

Seems like the CCS charging network is slowly getting better.
