Love that I have the e46 m3 18" sizes on my 2016 340... 225/45/18 and 255/40/18.

Not a fan of the 20" wheels on the Boxster... The look is great but the worry factor is high with 235/35/20 and 265/35/20.

Ha- had a feeling I was sticking my foot in my mouth with that comment. Actually now that I think about it I don’t recall seeing a pic of one of your cars with black wheels? Which ones have them?

No worries Rob ... my sons Black/red 340 has black m sport wheels and both Porsche’s have Carrera sport wheels in black though the 911 has a winter set of the same wheels in silver.

Not sure what vintage X5 5.0 my neighbor has, but it must be 2014-2016. 60,000 miles and v8 didn’t pass inspection because of bad valve cover seals. And this is some known problem for which BMW covers under extended warranty. Can this be right? Only 60,000 miles?

Oh, boy. My ex has our 2016 X5 50...only 35k miles or so, because she also drives her Boxster on nice days. She’s thinking about a Model Y next.

Bmw makes such marvelous turbo engines. I’d just never own one out of warranty ever again.

It’s almost like they don’t care beyond 100,000 miles what happens.

Sounds about right. The N63 engine is notorious on many fronts. I think the 14+ got the "Technical update" version which is slightly better, but still has many issues. Valve cover gaskets going bad at 60k just seems par for the course for any bmw v8 though. I remember my dads old e38 740 had that same issue around that mileage. I'd have a really hard time feeling comfortable owning any BMW v8 out of warranty.

Sorry boys. Just calling it like I see it.

BMW engines feel disposable.
