The 30e spec is for the current gen, which is being replaced next year. It sounds like the new 5 will have two PHEVs, at least in Europe; a 550e and a 530e. They will have a 550e and M560e in US. M560e is also a B58 based I6 with higher tune from the gas engine - total 570hp. Not sure if the 530e will come to US but I would bet no.

The 560e replaces the 550i? I assume no more V8s in the non M cars?

For a premium model, I’d honestly rather have a bigger battery than a more powerful ICE…

Yes no more V8 in the 5 series except for M5, so this is the m550 replacement. Fair point, more battery would be nice.
