I would guess a tremendously wealthy person would pile up the miles on a GT3, because they can treat it like a disposable car.

Whereas a somewhat affluent person might keep the miles down, just so they can bail on the car and get some money back.

I'd agree with the latter, but I think when you get to the fabulously wealthy, they probably have too many cars to rack up real mileage on any of them.

When I had the 997 I tried to use it as much as I could within reason and could not crack 3k/year. I can see me with a lot more money and owning one but preferring to commute in a comfortable sedan, taking a convertible on a nice day, taking the family SUV on trips, and leaving this car for just fun drives. Tough to add to many miles that way.

Yes. If you're tremendously wealthy, you a) have too many cars to rack up the miles, and b) don't drive yourself on boring commute driving.

yes, same problem when I had my 996 turbo. Only put decent miles when it was my primary car before I bought my GTI.

This weekend we crossed 10k of our miles on the 911. We got it in March of last year.

We had a wonderful weekend with it. Went to Bethlehem on Friday for dinner and a minor league baseball game. Longwood gardens then North East MD Saturday for crabs and drove some back roads Sunday. We figure if we are going to have cash tied up in it we might as well enjoy it to the fullest

Excellent. Glad you’re really enjoying it. Fall will be even lovelier. We are in a heat wave, and it’s been too hot to drive the 2 anywhere with the top down. If I’m not going to put the top down, I just grab the Mazda.

But after experiencing a 2018 GT3, I think I’m solidly in the “go modern” camp. (I want a circa 2018 GT3 6 speed)

The modern Porsche has rarely let us down, in terms of subjective and objective improvements to the cars over time. Nostalgia means less here because the modern cars are beautiful and even in base form perform brilliantly.

But I agree with you all, a black dash cap and black steering wheel would make these interior colors work better.
Turns out this place is right up the road from me. They have some pretty nice inventory. This particular '07 is a great color combo. First time I saw a black / terracotta interior.

A friend just bought 2017 991S dark Blue with a brownish interior, pdk, 14 way power seats with premium plus (keyless entry cooled and heated seats, etc.) and 7k miles, no warranty being over 4 yrs old and an msrp around $130+k

He paid $106k plus taxes …. Yeah Josh did GREAT on his purchase right before the pandemic.
