In late August, I sold it for about what I paid for it. In those days a 3 year old carrera with around 30k miles was about $45k with decent options (mid high 70s msrp IIRC).

Never looked back. Hated the stereo interface, hated the switches, the lighting at night, seat comfort (non-existent). As soon as I saw the pictures and interior of the 997 published, I was out. I did like the sound, the engine and loved the unflitered steering. The ride? Not so much, spec was 36/44 and I swear some bumps made healthy teeth hurt. Perhaps that's where my lumbar issues started.
Interesting...i'd always assumed the 996 had a relatively smooth ride.

I was going from a b5 a4 2.8 without a sports suspension on cushy 205/55/16 to 225/40/18 and 265/35/18 rears. That much pressure in the rear did make it hard, fortunately porsche reduced recommended pressures for 997's. It was also my first sports car.

When I first drove a 997.1 (as a zhp owner), I found the suspension fine. Perhaps my 996 was shot? It didn't have the best pedigree.

I was going to beg to differ. But then I went back to look at the pictures and I got nothing. It’s awkward looking.

This is a lot for this car.

Yikes… I could care less that it is a GT2 because in the back of my mind I instantly thought 996.

A buddy has a 991.1 turbo. The ride is abysmal. And the stock shock tuning is truly bizarre, the whole car kind of wobbles through turns and never takes a set.

He ended up buying a shock controller box from DSC, and he says it's a lot better. I may need to take it for a spin.

Speaking of 996’s I have never been a fan but this one came up on Bat today and I kind of like it.

I owned one of those. In dark blue.

If you haven’t driven one, you’ll like the road feel. JV isn’t wrong. Sometimes the damping is odd. But overall, I love the feel of the 996 chassis.

Yeah, I mean I get that the GT2 is a really special car and everything but it's heinous looking inside and out and there's no fixing that. It'd be cheaper to buy a 997 Turbo and remove the front drive axles and then you get a nice interior

This keeps popping up in my email notifications from Cars.com even though a sale is pending. Carvana has the car and someone(s) greatly missed price it, therefore it went extremely quickly because of such. I totally would have purchased this car and flipped my 3.6. Carfax states two owners. I guarantee we will see it listed somewhere else for $30-35k more.
