Forgot to mention that the relatively slow steering compared to the FoST and bren’s C4 also had an impact. I’ve almost never had to move my hands on the wheel of the FoST. In the Camaro, I was completely crossed up in a couple places where I couldn’t apply any more lock without letting go with one hand and steering up on the outside. Hold your right arm out in front of you palm up, then roll it clockwise so your palm rolls away from your body until it can’t rotate any further. Now do it more. That’s what was happening with my right hand on the left side of the wheel. I didn’t adjust and shuffle like I should have.

Seems like a certified preowned Camaro is not a bad option (with a lot of warranty left on the car).

The writing is on the wall ... if you don’t get one the only question I have is why ... when you get infatuated by a car like you have been the only thing to do is get one and fortunately this car is attainable.

Are suicide knobs a legal mod in any of the classes you’re thinking about?

Until I see them a) roll out more than just an LG-designed and built econobox, and b) actually start building EV charging infrastructure, I am going to assume all of this is vaporware bullshit that will either never be built or will be rolled out in a shoddy fashion and then killed in their next strategic change of direction.
a) they're not targeting the high end and one would have to argue that their battery tech is measurably better than that of Tesla's, to date
b) there's not a huge need for EV infrastructure in their demographic --most people wouldn't use these cars to travel further than to/from work; they'd still have a gasoline powered automobile
c) vaporware is relative. if the Model 3 doesn't roll off of dealer lots for less than $55,000, do we call that vaporware because it was supposed to be $35,000?

I think this is for another thread, but I don't entirely agree with the Tesla-centric view of the world.

I was thinking something more along the lines of an e92 since that's more in line with the budget.

I'm pretty sure the M2 will be a let down as well, but maybe not.

However, if what you want is a sporty 2 door thing with a little more "niceness" than a Camaro, it's pretty much all there is.

I’m not advancing a Tesla-centric view of the world, but the fact is that only Tesla so far has made any sort of commitment to building out eco charging infrastructure.

And that’s not unneeded. Trust me, as an EV owner with charging at both home and the office, I can tell you that’s only part of the equation. Being able to charge when traveling is another big part. And there are lots of ppl for whom EVs don’t work because they don’t have charging at home, even in the “high end” demo.

GM might be serious about EVs. They (or LG chem) might have great battery tech. But until they break ground on a high speed charging network, it’s bullshit.
