I love them, and I know Nick speaks very highly of them also. They seem to be 90+% of the Michelins (with a number of things they do better) for 75-% of the cost. In this segment, they'd get my vote.

They give up a lot in dry grip vs. the Michelins. But they have much better ride quality. The Michelin feels like a summer tire that just happens to work in cold conditions and mild snow. The DWS is a great tire, but no one will tell you that it feels like a summer tire.

I like the DWS a lot, but I'd be careful about how I compare it.
