Apparently two people used my code, without me having any j knowledge. I didn't even know what my own code was.

You must have had an easily guessibel code...

Since you had 2 referrals, you might be able to order 2 of the chargers then... once you put in one order, let me know if it lets you order a 2nd one... you could have it sent to your 2nd home in OH

I saw a guy complaining that he couldn't order a second charger and had to take the car instead.

Right now it won't let me order a second anything. In the app it now just says "status scheduled"

EDIT: it seems you only get the charger (or car) after 2 referrals. I think? WTF does "for each of your second referral" mean?

It says 2 referrals now. I’m pretty sure it was one back in October. Whatever. The company has better things to do with its money than this.

Oh well, thanks for trying!

The program was never well designed. I can understand some of the accessories, but there really should have been limits, and even the charger shouldn't have been awarded until ~5 referrals.

They also should have not allowed any social media postings of referrals -- although that is hard to enforce. Seems like most of the big winners were those that posted YouTube videos or built some of the search databases to search Tesla's inventory…

Hard to say. Seems to have bought them gobs of favorable youtube videos. Not sure how the cost compares with traditional advertising. Also many of those youtubers may have made the videos anyway without the added incentives from tesla.

But, unlike a niche sports car, Teslas are meant to be everyday cars. Personally, I guess i'm still in the "i dont' quite get it" camp but I'm not a die-hard EV enthusiast and view traditional products from other brands as viable alternatives. If, as JST said in another thread, other cars seem like Stanley Steamers in comparison, I suppose there's no real alternative. Plus, no one else has yet replicated Tesla's high speed charging network.

This article does a nice job of explaining the tesla phenomenon i think

So... my car came back online today. I expect to get it back tomorrow. One week shy of 5 months since the accident...
