We sat in the Countryman at the local auto show over Thanksgiving... They had it a bit seperate from the other Minis, but it did look bigger than them -- but not much (although its a lot taller).

But sitting inside its really a nice size -- great packaging. Its a bit narrower than our E91 (ie the E90 touring), and there is less cargo capacity. But the back seat has more leg room than the E91 (which has an extra 1-2 inches on an E90 -- the rear seat is pushed further back on the Tourings)...

Either. the pic TD posted is the individual buckets. But you can also spec a bench...

You know too much about this car!

MINI went back and forth on whether or not they'd offer the rear bench in the US (it is already available in Europe). They finally decided a few months ago that they are going to offer it, but they need to do some more safety testing/certification before they can bring it over. My best guess is that it will be available in the summer or fall (when the 2012s come out).
