So for the ADHD among us....

You went from a Mini, to a Countryman... because it fits 2 kids better?

How much of this is actually functional difference, vs just wanting a new car?

It's actually a pretty big difference in space. The Cooper S just will not fit an infant seat, a toddler and me with any comfort. The Countryman has a lot of
room--more so than the E90.

SCA--it's not AWD. I drove an AWD version and the extra weight doesn't do the car any favors, and I don't really need the extra traction.

Not that the E90 has much room to start with, but this is saying something. Sounds like the Countryman offers a really attractive alternative (visually, and performance-wise) to all the sedate small family movers out there (CR-V, RAV-4, and such).

The RAV4 parked behind still looks to dwarf the mini.

I think we need a Mini family photo for side-by-side size comparison.

Or, if you'd prefer to see it from another angle...

I was thinking that it looked somewhat similar in size (just lower to the ground) when compared to the RAV. But now that I see it next to the other Minis, it doesn't seem bigger at all. Probably have to look at it in person to get a true sense for its size.
