Being I have a son with a pretty fast car (the 340i) whenever he follows me I always make it a point to drive really calm ... the last thing I want him doing is racing me ... in fact the only thought I have is how can I make sure when we need to shift lanes there is enough room for him to do it as well.

Though that is another story, I taught my kids when following someone the person in front puts the blinker on and when it's safe the person in back gets into the lane first so that the front car can then move in safely.

Why the dad? Looks like the kid (who is 25) was the one that crashed (although the dad may have rear-ended someone...)

Why is this so hard for people to understand?

And why don't people in the trail position switch preemptively when they know it's going to need to be done?

They need someone to teach them this ..my dad taught me from day one and I taught it to my kids from day one.

I’m sure you’re like me ... I feel like i’m constantly teaching them to drive even after their years of experience I can’t stop myself
