Manual M5/M6 Dead

Not surprising.

The M6 grand coupe with a manual is the ultimate luxo GT.

Of course I would want a 2 seat roadster to go with it.

These rare birds will go for big money eventually.

I'm sure it didn't help that most reviewers thought the latest M5's manual box was kind of a shitty one.

Yup. I have to think that ultimately, people revolted on the E60 because of memories of the E39 M5. The E60 also had to be revved to get power. But with the F10 it became a number, very large, very torque rich car. The F80 is at the limit (past my limit) in terms of the size/weight of a car you can take to the track or have real fun with. I bet the F8X has also seen a drop in manual take rates. I see the manual hanging around for maybe one more gen at the 3er level.

I dont think it was so much that the box itself was shitty. The reviews I saw mostly commented on how the manual just didn't fit the character of the car/engine.

yeah I thought the e60 box was shitty since it was added last minute but not the latest one.

m5 is such a big luxo car and turbocharged that DCT kind of fits it anyways.

I think the E60 and F10 box's where both a variation of the box that came in the E39 which was in of itself mostly the box from the 540.
