2022 BMW X3 M Comp

A new review from Savagegeese was released today and sadly it still rides like shit otherwise I would be a player. No clue why BMW did not address this during the LCI phase as it is well-known that the suspension is way too harsh for an SUV.

I really wanted to like and buy one when I was shopping in November 2020. But, it was crap. The M40 was much better in nearly every way.

100%

It is unfortunate that BMW made the M40i a mild-hybrid for 2022.

The video also reminds me that the spare bumps up the height of the cargo floor, which is a real pain when you need to get dogs up there.

The high cargo floor is a pain with dogs in my Mazda, too, which kind of has me looking at Audi Allroads again...D'oh! (Although a caveat is some of the jacked-up wagons out there have a tailgate that isn't much lower than small SUVs, ie: Subaru Outbacks.)

I do not see the option for the spare on the X3M nor listed as standard equipment, but the raised floor is evident in the video. The spare is optional ($150) on the 30i/M40i making the floor flat without it. I have not seen many ordered with the spare solely because of the raised floor.

My dog rides in the rear seat with a Orvis dog seat cover/hammock installed. Regardless she can (currently)/jump into whatever I point to while saying “place.”

I've got one of those Orvis backseat covers, too. I may switch to that when my 11-year-old dog can no longer (grudgingly) leap into the back.

And my dogs are not as well trained as yours is, for sure.

Edit: It's weird about the spare. I remember it being standard when you picked the non-RFTs in 2020...

Apparently I am better suited at training a dog then raising a child.

On the X3M?

Ouch.

I thought so, but I may be mistaken. I drove a bunch of SUVs—BMW and otherwise—at the time.

Have you driven the mild-hybrid engine? I wonder how it compares. Audi is going that route as well.

The savage geese review was actually pretty good for it minus the rough ride for some people. Surprising to me for a new BMW
